DIVE I (Digital Imaging, Video Editing)
A semester program designed to give students an indepth look at digital photography and video editing. Students will use Photoshop to manipulate a variety of digital images as well as creating original works of art. With iMovie, students will be able express themselves through sight and sound. Recording and editing video footage as well as sound editing will allow the student to create a variety of QuickTime movies.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Digital Media
Digital Imaging-8 weeks (projects are to be submitted as .jpeg images)
Mr Melon Head • Sample
Students will be able to complete the Mr Melon head Intro to Photoshop project.
Objects 4 Letters • Sample
Students will be able to create an image of their first or last name where the letters have been replaced with photos/scans. The photos/scans are to be of items that have the same shape as the letters they are replacing. The photo/scan is to be trimmed so that only the letters are visible.
How to . . . Movie • Sample
Students will be able to create a how to . . . movie(how to pop popcorn, how to make a raised panel door, how to build a fire, etc.). The movie is to contain at least 8 images. No text to explain process, background music is required. All images will be assembled as an image sequence QuickTime movie.
Comic Page • Sample
Students will be able to create a page using the program Comic Life. The page is too include 3 photos of yourself with backgrounds created in Photoshop. All background images around the images of you are to be removed. Appropriate text is too be added to each image as well as a title bar.
Digital Images
Students will be able to select any catagories and create digital images for each area. In each catagories you will create 2 images for a total of 10 images in this assignment.
Each image will be a made up of images shot with the digital camera, scanned images or good quality digital images from the internet. Images size will be 480 x 360 in size (2 images per sheet) with no blank areas in the image. The object is to make the images appear as realistic as possible.

Magazine Reproduction • Original Advertisement • New Advertisement • Got Milk ad
Students will be able to create a reproduction from scratch of a magazine advertisement. the advertisement must have at least 7 items. All photos must be new images and the text is to match font, size, and shape.

Students will be able to create a movie trailer using iMovie. The movie will meet the following requirements:
Procedural Video
Students will be able to create a procedural video using iMovie. The video will meet the following requirements:
TimeMotion • Sample
Students will be able to create a series of 4 different TimeMotion movies Two ideas where the process is speeded up and two ideas where the process is slowed down.
Autobiography • Sample
Students will be able to create an autobiography video in podcast form. The podcast will meet the following requirements:

DIVE II (Digital Imaging, Video Editing)

StopMotion
Students will be able to create two digital movies using different stop motion techniques: move objects individually and shoot digital photos, use iMovie time lapse technique.
GarageBand
Students will work with the program GarageBand to create a soundtrack for their StopMotion video. Students will also create background/intro music clips for their tv production.
Television News Show Production
Students will be able to utilize the tv production studio to prepare and record a news broadcast. The student will serve as the anchor for news, sports and weather. Students will create graphics for station name, logos for all parts of the broadcast and any other graphic needed to complete the broadcast. Green screen technology must also be a part of the broadcast.
TV Graphics
Students will use Photoshop to create graphics for their tv production video.
Video Paper
Students will be able to create a 4 to 6 minute presentation on the subject of their choice. The report should include graphics, factual information and be visually pleasing. Think of it as a video paper/report. If you can use this to fulfill an assignment in another class, wonderful.
