- Book Check Out Info
-
Each student visits the library once during the 6 day cycle. Book check out is held during library class.
Some Things to Remember!
-2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders are allowed to take out up to two library books. Kindergarten and 1st grade students are only allowed to check out one book at a time.
-All books are borrowed for one cycle. Your child always has library class on the same day of the cycle. Because we are using a 6 day cycle rotation, the day of the week that your child has library will change each week.
-Students are expected to return ALL of their books to the library during class. Books can be renewed and taken home again but must always be brought to the library on library day to be renewed.
-Students are expected to return library books in the same condition that they were checked out. All children have been instructed to check their books for damages before leaving the library and to inform the librarian if there is something wrong with a book. If a book is returned damaged, it is understood that the damage was not present when the book was checked out and the child who checked it out will be held responsible for paying for its replacement.
-It is the responsibility of the student to pay the full cost of replacement in the case of lost or damaged books. Please note that books from Amazon or other vendors will not be accepted as replacements. Library books are bought from specific companies that make stronger books meant for repeated use.
If library books are not returned on date due:
1st class: The student is verbally reminded to return the book. The student will not be able to check out any other books until the missing book is returned.
2nd class: Written reminder is sent home with the child.
3rd class: Payment due notice is sent home with child. The student will also receive a Clip Slip moving him down a color on their classroom behavior chart.
Each student receives a quarterly homework grade for returning books on time!
Failing to return books will lower your child’s library grade!
