Dear Pine Grove Area Students, Staff, Parents, and Residents,
Welcome to another new school year. The 2024-2025 school year promises to be a great one. I am honored and very excited to be your Superintendent of Schools. The Pine Grove Area School District is one of the finest school districts in the area. Since being here, I have learned that the tradition of excellence exists due to the wonderful people of our community and the hard work of our students and staff.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself and my family. First and foremost, I am a husband and father. My wife Heather and I are the proud parents of two wonderful children. Hunter, our son, passed away suddenly in 2011 at three years of age and Hannah, our daughter, is seven years old and in second grade. Our family life has been far from perfect, but our challenges have made us stronger. I tell you this because my experiences as a husband and father have greatly shaped me as an educator and a leader.
I deeply believe in a quality and comprehensive education for all students. Pine Grove Area is known not only for its academic excellence and extracurricular programs but also for the positive and healthy relationships between staff and students. Parents entrust their children to our care and expect our fine staff to give their best day in and day out. I take that commitment very seriously.
My mission as your Superintendent is also my passion, and it is the reason I do what I do. My mission is to maintain and grow a rigorous teaching and learning environment that provides every student with a sense of belonging while helping students to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. It is critical to future success that students graduate with habits and skills necessary to pursue and achieve their goals and dreams.
By working together, we have the opportunity to build upon the wonderful traditions of excellence that are in place and to create an educational program that is valued and respected.
I look forward to meeting you, working with you, and providing service and support to our school district as we work diligently to meet the needs of our students. With Cardinal pride,
Heath W. Renninger
