    Program Overview:

    The JROTC Mission is "To Motivate Young People To Be Better Citizens".

    JROTC cadets receive instruction in Leadership, Citizenship, Health and Fitness, and First Aid among other topics that prepare them to be productive citizens. This education benefits not only them but also their community and the nation in the present and the future.

    JROTC is NOT A MILITARY RECRUITING ORGANIZATION, though many JROTC cadets do go on to serve in our nation's military services.

Teams

  • JROTC Extracurricular Teams:

    JROTC cadets have the opportunity to volunteer to particpate as members of numerous teams.

    Drill Team: Cadets train and compete as members of the Drill Platoon, Competition Color Guard, and Exhibition Drill Team. Cadets compete head-to-head against 4 other JROTC teams in our region as well as a League competition against 10 other Drill Teams.

    Air Rifle Team: After completing all Safety Instruction, team members practice on the Cardinal Range, preparing to compete head-to-head against 4 other JROTC teams in our region. Cadets also compete in Postal Competitions against teams nationwide.

    Raider Team: The Raider Team trains to a higher standard of Physical Fitness, in addition to First Aid, Land Navigation and Rope Bridging. Cadets compete head-to-head against 10 other teams within our League.

    JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) Team: Similar to a Quiz Bowl Team, cadets compete on-line against teams from across the nation. The team also competes head-to-head against other East Coast JLAB teams in competitions in the NY/NJ area.

    Orienteering Team: Cadets train in Land Navigation to compete in the Annual JROTC Tri-Service (Army/Navy/Air Force) Orienteering Competition.
