Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Program
Overview of Program:
The Mission of JROTC is “To Motivate Young People To Be Better Citizens”
by preparing high school students for leadership and roles as productive citizens that benefit the student, the community and the nation in the present and the future.
Future Events of JROTC:
Cadets served ice cream to the entire school at the beginning of the year.
Our Cadets recently toured West Point Military Academy and received personalized tours by the Military Cadets at West Point.
Members of the integrated curricular teams are all volunteers. From the cadets who volunteer for these activities, only the very best are selected to represent Junior ROTC and the school in competitions.
There are three teams, the drill team, color guard and rifle team to select from. Special Team commanders post a sign-up sheet for their team the first two weeks of school that allow cadets in the program to try out for the team that interests them.
It takes everyone working together to make a successful battalion. Members of special teams must be dedicated to their team. Each special team devotes numerous hours of practice to make their team the best. Cadets are expected to attend every practice and event for their team. Competitions are held at different levels for special teams. Opportunity sometimes exists for cadets to join special teams at other times during the school year
